Rob Hopkins: Transition Stories - Local solutions for a sustainable society

Rob Hopkins is an independent activist and writer on environmental issues, based in TotnesEngland. He is best known as the founder and figurehead of the Transition movement, which he initiated in 2005. 

Rob Hopkins holds a doctorate from Plymouth University (2011) on the subject of transition (Localisation and Resilience at the Local Level: The Case of Transition Town Totnes). He is a visiting fellow at Plymouth University, and in July 2013 was awarded a honorary doctorate by the University of the West of England. The 4th of October 2016, he was awarded a honorary doctorate by the University of Namur.
